2009 TAMFT Day at the Dome

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

On March 24th MFT students and professionals delivered a unified message to our elected officials and took part in a very important day for marriage and family therapy at the Texas State Capitol.  MFTs and students visited with legislators  as informed constituents to discuss current issues related to families, mental health delivery systems and health care outcomes in the Texas Legislature.

While it is true that we have a professional advocate speaking for us, it is vitally important that our numbers are seen and heard.  Legislators take notice when their constituents care enough to visit- and follow up- on legislation that is important to those constituents.  Speak effectively and maybe you won't need a big stick!

TAMFT encourages members to contact your state representative and state senator to inform them of our initiatives for the season.  Find your legislator and don't wait-make contact today!
