Legislation and Common Rule Violations of TSBEMFT's Ethical Guidelines Speaker: Dr. Russ Bartee, LMFT-S, LPC-S About the Webinar: As a Texas LMFT, practicing clinical excellence requires navigating a complex and shifting regulatory landscape. In this high-impact, 1-hour workshop, we will demystify the entire Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) complaint process and look ahead to the critical policy shifts on the horizon for 2027. First, we will dive deep into BHEC’s latest enforcement data, separating myth from reality by examining why 84.1% of agency-wide complaints are dismissed and identifying the standard-of-care, record-keeping, and boundary pitfalls most likely to trigger formal discipline. You will walk away with a highly practical 10-point “license defense” checklist and a disciplined response plan to protect your practice. Second, we will equip you with a vital Survival and Advocacy Guide for the upcoming 90th Texas Legislative Session. We will analyze BHEC’s current budget tensions, its request for professional-specific investigators (including a dedicated LMFT investigator), impending Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (TREO) rule changes, and TAMFT’s core 2027 advocacy priorities—including securing Medicaid reimbursement for Associate-level clinicians and expanding interstate licensure portability. REGISTER NOWAbout the Presenter: Dr. Russ Bartee is a faculty member at Texas Wesleyan University, has more than 30 years of clinical experience, and continues to maintain a private practice in Fort Worth.
