2026 CALL FOR PROPOSALS

This year's conference, Growing from Our Roots: Integrating Systemic Traditions with Modern Realities, is dedicated to grounding Texas MFTs and friends of the field in systemic theory and practice. Our workshops and keynote speakers will be intentionally curated to invigorate and challenge the unique minds of systemic thinkers.

"Growing from our roots" reflects the importance of integrating foundational therapeutic practices with modern approaches to marriage and family therapy. This theme encourages exploring holistic, culturally sensitive methods that honor tradition while addressing contemporary challenges in relationships.

What Are We Looking For in a Workshop?

To best serve our members, we’re looking for workshops that TAMFT members find most useful, engaging, and stimulating. While lectures and handouts will be ideal supplements, we want most workshops to actively engage participants through clinical demonstrations, role plays, clinical skill practice, advanced theoretical applications, group discussions, and other creative and innovative presentation approaches.

TAMFT is currently accepting proposals for the 2026 Conference, with particular emphasis on the following areas of need:

  • Innovative Approaches to Trauma Treatment
  • Advocacy and Policy Change
  • Bilingual Systemic Practice (Spanish-Speaking Preferred)
  • Social Justice in MFT
  • Diversity and Cultural Competency
  • Advanced/Specialized Treatment Approaches
  • Sexuality Issues/Sex Therapy
  • Practice Building/Financial Practices
  • Collaborative and Integrative Healthcare
  • Supervision
  • Outcome Monitoring and Feedback-Informed Treatment
  • Telehealth
  • Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders
  • Play Therapy
  • Ethics
  • Up-and-coming professionals (LMFT Associates and Students)

The best part?  Those selected to present will get to attend the conference at a significantly discounted price!
